How to read it

DNA ↔ RNA and reverse complement

“Reverse complement” gives the opposite strand read 5′→3′; use it to bring minus-strand genes, primers or reads to the plus-strand orientation.

Complementing follows the full IUPAC rules: R↔Y, K↔M, B↔V, D↔H, while S, W and N stay the same; gaps and unknown characters are kept, and letter case is preserved by default.

DNA → RNA only replaces T with U (no change of direction, as in a standard “transcribe” function); reverse-complementing an RNA input keeps U.

Copy or download the result as FASTA; the table lists each new ID, length and the first 30 bases for checking.

Method

IUPAC-IUB nucleotide ambiguity codes (Cornish-Bowden 1985, Nucleic Acids Res 13:3021); results match Biopython Seq.reverse_complement / transcribe.

Data size

Runs in your browser; up to roughly 100 MB of sequence is recommended.
