How to read it

Enrichment circle plot

Each enriched term gets one sector with four rings, outside in: ① category colour (e.g. GO BP / CC / MF), with the term ID or name outside the circle; ② background size (longer bar = larger gene set), coloured by −log10 P; ③ number of hit genes, split red / blue when up / down columns are supplied; ④ rich factor (hits / background).

By default the 20 terms with the smallest P are shown, grouped by category; full names are in the plotted-terms table or on hover.

The chart does not recompute enrichment; it shows the values in your table. “k/N” values such as BgRatio or GeneRatio use the numerator.

Method

Rich factor = hit genes / background genes; colour = −log10(P). Example GO data: Gene Ontology Consortium (2023) Genetics 224:iyad031, GOA human annotation (CC BY 4.0).
