How to read it

Pie and donut chart

Each slice’s angle (area) is proportional to its share of the total; a donut shows the total in the centre. With several value columns, small pies are drawn side by side with consistent category colours.

Angles are compared less accurately than lengths: with more than 6–8 categories or similar shares, a stacked or ordinary bar chart shows differences more clearly.

Very small categories are merged into “Other” by default (threshold adjustable); the downloadable table keeps every category’s value and percentage before merging.

A pie shows composition, not totals; compare totals between pies using the summary.

Method

Percentage = category value / column total × 100; negative values are ignored.

Data size

Up to 24 pies.
